The definitions...

Jump Cut: A jump cut is where the camera quickly jumps from one shot to the other to cut out time, for example when a character is running towards the camera, it would go from a long shot to a mid shot to show the continuity of it.

Fade out: Fade out is a transition where the shot slowly disappears by using a colour, mainly black to make it, eventually a blank screen. This is normally used at the end of a programme or scene.

Wipe: Wipe is another transition where the characters/objects in the shot get wiped away from either angle of the screen to get from one shot to another.
